But fear not, because if you’re in the market for a reliable yet affordable option, the Wilson XLS Golf Clubs are your golden ticket—a fantastic choice for beginners looking to up their game without breaking the bank.

Having spent considerable time in the golfing realm, I understand the importance of a trustworthy set of clubs, especially when you’re transitioning from occasional rounds to a more regular golfing routine. Let’s talk about affordability without compromising on quality. As someone deeply immersed in the art of selling golf excellence, I’ve seen the hesitation around renting or borrowing clubs. Renting can be a costly affair, and let’s face it, the desire to play more often shouldn’t be hindered by the burden of ongoing rental expenses.

With the Wilson XLS Golf Clubs, you’re not just getting a set of clubs; you’re making an investment in your golfing journey. Imagine the satisfaction of owning a set after just a handful of rounds—no more concerns about the mounting cost of rentals. If you’re ready to step into a world where affordability meets performance, the Wilson XLS Golf Clubs await to be your trusted companions on the course. Let’s elevate your game together.

Wilson XLS Golf Clubs

Wilson Golf Clubs has long been a reliable option and is well regarded as one of the best golf clubs for beginners. These Wilson Profile XLS Golf Clubs are no different.

The Wilson XLS clubs were designed to be forgiving, featuring a larger sweet spot and perimeter weighting. These design elements help to maintain ball speed and stability on off-center hits, reducing the impact of mishits and improving consistency.

The Wilson XLS Profile Complete package does accommodate both left and right-handed players and is also available in the longer length option for taller golfers. To help determine the length that might be the best it is always ideal to use a Golf Club Fitting Chart.

This is a simple wrist to floor measurement and the only real part of club fitting that a beginner golfer should be concerned about. Make sure you check the link on How to Choose Golf Clubs to find out if you will need the longer length option. There is information there on how to check the length you might need, particularly if you are above average height.

Unfortunately, the left handed golf club set doesn’t come in the longer option. The alternative to this is to get them custom extended. This can be done by the club fitter at your local golf shop for an affordable price, but will only be needed for the irons.

Features

Wilson XLS Driver

The Wilson Golf Driver in this Wilson Golf Club Set has a rather large volume head, which is great for forgiveness. It also features a graphite shaft for distance and performance.

Wilson Fairway Wood

Just the one fairway wood in this set which is a 3 wood. Also has a graphite shaft for distance and performance and pretty good value for cheap golf clubs.

Wilson Hybrid Club

Featuring a 4 Hybrid Club, this one will become your 4 iron. The low centre of gravity and large sweet spot will help with consistency and getting the ball to launch in the air.

Wilson Golf Irons

This is one of the better golf clubs sets that features seven irons from 5 iron to sand wedge. They are a perimeter weighted cavity back, which is ideal for a beginner golfer.

The Wilson XLS Golf Clubs are a reliable, durable set. They will be perfect to help you gain some confidence with your golf at the beginning stages and one of the best cheap golf clubs on the market.

  1. These clubs look to be what I have been looking for. I have an older set of Wilson clubs and have been looking to get a new set. I don’t get a chance to play that often and I shoot in the low 90’s. I am lefty so that’s great that I could get these. I like the larger woods for that “forgiveness” factor. My old set also has a hybrid club which over time I have become very fond of! Since I may not be a new player but simply still a high handicapper, one of my main goals in the new set was my irons and these perimeter weighted cavity irons sound like the type of clubs I need to get some better contact with the ball on a more consistent basis.

      I appreciate your comments.

If you don’t get the chance to play too often and need a reliable set of clubs, then these will do the job for you. Being a lefty makes it a little tough for golf gear but there certainly are options if you look for them.

Any questions let me know, and enjoy your next game!!!

  2. So do you think the Wilson XLS set is a better option compared to the Cobra Max? I love the distance I get when I played with Cobra. It was a great club for me when I got used to the extra distance, especially with the short irons. Now I am looking for a new set and was curious on your thoughts. I really like visiting your website.

    • Hi Robert

      Thanks for your comments.

The Cobra Max set is almost a premium set of golf clubs, and great value if you are a beginner, or an intermediete player looking for some more consistency. The Wilson XLS set of golf clubs is a great affordable option for a beginner who is after a decent package to start with.

That’s great that you’ve had a good experience with Cobra gear in the past. They do a great job with innovation and also game improvement.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. These Wilson clubs look really amazing….. I actually played a few strokes with the exact set(owned by my friend) about a month ago and I must say the feel and balance of the clubs are excellent. This will be a very nice addition to any above scratch golfer. The website also looks amazing and layout is very descriptive.

  4. Great tips on the Wilson clubs. I had never done any golfing besides just going to the driving range. But then I got to thinking that I would like to start learning to golf. I’ve got some friends who golf and I think we’d have a great time golfing together. I agree with you about renting clubs. Maybe if it were just for one time it would be fine, but not if you’re planning to keep playing. Wilson has always been a name that I’ve trusted over the years for all sorts of sporting goods. I’ll give them a try. Thanks

  5. I love golf and I highly recommend Wilson’s brand to anyone out there looking to begin golfing. It is Durable and made with all the right stuff. I’ve had other brands to break and the grip would sometimes become loose which ruined the swing and often times lead to my club flying through the air with the ball. Wilson over all trust me on this. Great post

Yes, Wilson does do a pretty decent set of golf clubs for beginners. You shouldn’t have any troubles with the grips coming loose with these 🙂

  6. Thanks for the great advice. We are looking for some clubs for my young teenager son. He is left handed. Do you know much about teaching? Should we let him golf left handed or should he start out right handed and just stay right handed?
These would be some clubs that would be a great price and a really good starter set.
Look forward to checking more out from your site about how to golf and the best equipment to use.

      Thanks for stopping by.

The Wilson XLS Golf Clubs are available in left handed. They would be a great set for your son to start out with. Most left handed golfers generally play golf left handed, but I would ask him which hand he instinctively throws a ball. This generally will tell whether or not he will play left or right handed.
