Bushnell Golf Rangefinders, Pro X2

Precise distances to the pin are very important for more accomplished golfers.Bushnell Golf Rangefinders

The Bushnell Golf Rangefinders are definitely one of the better options in terms of delivering accurate measurements to the flag stick.

Used by many golfers worldwide Bushnell continues to lead the way in Laser Golf Rangefinder Innovation.

Here is a review of the new state of the art Bushnell Golf Rangefinder (PRO X2)

Features

Slope Switch Technology

With the flick of a switch, the Slope Switch Technology can be used to measure distances for both uphill and downhill lies.

The Switch means that the device is now USGA Conforming and can be used in tournament play with the flick of a switch.

Using the slope switch is not allowed during tournament play, but is very handy for club selection during practice rounds and knowing distances for elevated and uphill slopes.

Bushnell Golf Rangefinder

Rubber Metal Housing

Don’t worry if you drop this thing because it won’t damage it. The Rubber metal housing is fully waterproof and built very strong and rigid for even the most clumsy of golfers.

Pinseeker with Jolt Technology

This feature is what separates this rangefinder from some of its competitors.

The product will jolt or vibrate if it has been targeted correctly onto the flag. Remove all doubt and stop lining up those damn trees behind the flag. If the golfer is lined up correctly the Pro X2 will vibrate twice.

450+ Range to a Flag

The range of the Bushnell Pro X2 is very impressive. A golfer can line up a flag from up to 450 yards out. Handy if you’re the kind of golfer that likes to wait for the green to clear 😉

Dual Display Technology

This is exclusive to the PRO X2 model and allows the golfer to toggle between a light red vivid display or a sharp black display with a flick of the mode button.

The Bushnell Pro X2 Laser Rangefinder also features 6X Magnification for more accuracy and Stable Grip Technology which makes it very comfortable in the hands.

Conclusion

If you are in the market for a new Rangefinder and are after reliability, the Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder is the best option.

Being able to figure out yardages with the Slope Switch is a fantastic feature and makes it easier for club selection. For all those serious players out there just make sure you switch it off for tournament play.

The Rubber metal housing is fantastic for all those golfers that get a little careless at times. It is very durable and should last you for an extended period.

Choose between a red and black display, based on conditions and personal preference. Golfers can also use this one for rainy days as the Pro X2 is also waterproof.

I love to use these Rangefinders. Even so, I don´t play much golf it made me feel more comfortable when I do. And I have given them to people as a birthday gift.
    But I have two questions.
I have heard a lot of the Slope-Switch Technology, is it confusing to use?
Is this thing legal in tournaments or do I need to use it only in training?

      Hi Johann

      I appreciate your comments.

The Slope-Switch technology measures the precise distance for elevation change and is very easy to use with the flick of a switch. Unfortunaly the Slope readings are not allowed during tournament play, but can easily be toggled on or off. The Bushnell Pro X2 is definitely one of the best Rangefinders on the market.

      Cheers

    Hi Chris,
I do not play much golf, but my husband does and this looks like a great gift idea. It has all the bells and whistles that a serious golfer could ever want, and the compact design is great too. Can this switch between yards and meters? Is the battery a rechargeable one, and if not are they expensive to replace?

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Dana

      I appreciate your comments.

Yes, the Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder would be a great gift idea for all those semi serious golfers. It can easily be changed from yards to metres. It takes a small CR2 Lithium battery and is easily replaceable and not very expensive.

      Cheers

    Chris,
Great review. I have a bushnell tour 3v and it has been great for me. I bought it for a charity golf tournament where I caddied for Jordan Spieth. I went a day before and did a lot of measuring.
I have been using it for myself since and love it. Problem is, I dropped it into a pond and it lost its slope measurements for some reason.
The video in your review sold me and I bought it. Thanks for having the link with savings.
Thanks again for the information, Love your site and I am watching one of your training video’s now.

Very nice layout and explanations for the Bushnell Golf Rangefinder. I play a bit of golf And I knew this product was one of the better Rangefinders available. I was curious enough to click the page in the conclusion to see what the fine details were of the Pro X2 Model. Nice work.

Wow! This sure does look like high-tech military-grade equipment. I wonder if you could comment on its durability. I would be afraid that it might need to be kept in a padded case to keep it safe. Is there any sort of recalibration that is required from time to time? Thank you!

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Neil

      I appreciate your comments.

The Bushnell Pro X2 Golf Rangefinder features Rubber Metal housing, which means it is very durable. It also does come with a case when it is not being used. No need for any type of recalibration with the Pro X2. A new CR2 Lithium battery will eventually be needed as they don’t last forever.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Cheers

holy moly, this bushnell golf rangefinder is amazing. Gosh, I wish I had found this a long time ago. Actually, my dad could definitely have done with this one. I used to walk around the course with him as a kid and I heard plenty of thumb-sucking numbers when it came to distances to pin. This definitely takes the guess work out. Now I just need to perfect my stroke so the ball travels the distance calculated rather than it’s own distance and course 😉

    1. Chris Post author

      Hey Gaz

      I appreciate your comments.

This Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder will definitely make your time out on the golf course a lot easier. Takes the guess work out of choosing a club.

Let your Dad know about this one.

      Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha! I haven’t played golf since I was a little kid, but I wish I had a Rangefinder back then. This appears to be a very helpful tool for improving the accuracy of your golf game. If I get back into golf, I will definitely be purchasing one of these. Thanks for sharing all the great information. Very cool!

    1. Chris Post author

I just recently got into golf, and to be honest I didn’t know these devices even existed. I can see how this data could be very helpful indeed! Is that slope measurement telling you what you should swing for, or what slope the hill is?

Would you recommend a similar device at a more affordable price?

    Excellent review

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Joe

      I appreciate your comments.

The Slope measurement will measure exactly how far a golfer is from the flag, taking into account the elevation change.

The Bushnell Pro X2 Model is definitely one of the best, however Bushnell do have some more affordable Rangefinders available.

      Cheers

      Chris

I have always been terrible at judging distance as a golfer. This can really come in handy to help improve my game. And trust me, there is lots of room for improvement!! I really like the construction which makes it super durable for those times when it is dropped. I am buying this for sure! Thanks for the great info!

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Nate

      I appreciate your comments.

The Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder will definitely make your experience out on the golf course much more enjoyable. Knowing precise distances to the flag will help golfers of all levels.

Hi Chris, I see that you love the greatest game ever played. I like bushnell products, used many rangefinders and would recommend it. Accurate yardage is key in hitting greens in regulation,
I like how easy it is to navigate the site.
Your reviews hit the nail on the head. Taylormade always lead the tour in Drivers and Callaway is trying to grab some of that market. The epic driver may help.

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi

I appreciate your comments and thanks for stopping by.

An accurate yardage will give golfers a lot more confidence and trust in club selection at out on the golf course. The Bushnell Pro X2 Model in definitely one of the best rangefinders.

      Cheers

I am a huge golfer and this a must for me. I always struggle to see how far I am away. Looking for markers or sprinkler heads and pacing everything off.
Now with this product it is very easy. I’ve heard about range finders but never used one. I appreciate this now I don’t have to walk off every distance from the pin. Thanks so much I will put it on my Christmas list.

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi

      I appreciate your comments.

The Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder will certainly make your time out on the golf course a lot easier. No need to pace out yardages anymore. Just fire it at the flag and choose a club.

      Happy Golfing.

      Chris

    Hey Chris!

Awesome article. You know, I have golfed various times and never knew these even existed haha. Goes to show how “non-professional” I am.

What are your personal thoughts on these? Do you think it gives people an advantage and could be taken as cheating?

I mean, back in the day, they would not have had these. Do you think golfers today have a better chance with the use of the range finder?

    Take it easy Chris!

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Michael

I personally use a Rangefinder and find it really helps with clubs selection, because I know how far I hit my irons when they are struck well. The Bushnell Pro X2 is one of the best on the market.

These are legal for Amatuers to use in competitions, which can help with pace of play. They are not legal to use for professionals in golf tournaments though. This is where a good caddy will come in handy.

      I appreciate your comments.

      Cheers

      Chris

  15. Ange

Great review. I hadn’t even heard of this product! I’m definitely not an experienced golfer and this would help me a lot.
I like that its durable, won’t break easily and last me a while.
If not for me, it could be a great gift idea for my ‘serious’ golfer friends.
    Does it convert to metres?
    Thanks!

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Ange

      I appreciate your comments.

Yes the Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder can certainly be changed from yards to metres. This is one of the best on the market so definitely tell some of your golfing friends to check it out.

      Cheers

      Chris

It is nice to have a range finder on the golf course, as a lot of them are failing to put out markers. Perhaps they believe that with this technology it is not important.

However, average golfers can have problems identifying distance. I am one of these people that like the green to clear even if it is a 1-100 shot that I will hit up on people from 270 yards out!

I’m sure hardcore golfers will also appreciate that this finder is waterproof.

    1. Chris Post author

      Hi Ernest

      I appreciate your comments.

Having a Bushnell Golf Rangefinder out on the golf course certainly helps with club selection. Pro X2 Model is definitely one of the best performing Rangefinders on the market.

      Cheers

      Chris
