Best Golf Balls for Seniors

The 4 Best

There are a lot of golf balls, and it can be challenging to go through the entire clutter of information that is out there on the many different types.

As a golfer, we would much instead choose our ball and go out and enjoy the golf course with our buddies.

Here are a few of the best golf balls for seniors.

Callaway Supersoft Golf Ball

The Callaway Supersoft Golf Ball has been a popular ball for an extended period now. It continues to be a popular choice amongst golfers looking to achieve a bit more distance and is well regarded as one of the best distance golf balls for seniors.

Callaway Supersoft Golf Ball

Features

Low Compression Core

The Callaway Supersoft golf ball is a two-piece golf ball with a low compression core. This means that the ball will compress more at impact, and help generate more distance for a below-average swing speed. This helps reduce spin, which is ideal for both sidespin and backspin. It means your bad shots, won’t be as severe compared to some other model golf balls.

Hexagonal Dimple Pattern

This dimple pattern has been unique to Callaway Golf for some time. The new model golf ball has improved HEX Aerodynamics, which, based on testing, will improve drag. This means that the wind will not have a more significant effect on the overall golf ball performance. (You might sneak in a few extra yards).

Softer Cover

The cover has been made softer with a design called Tri-ionomer. It is just a new and improved version of the traditional ionomer cover used in golf balls. If you used the previous version ball, you would notice some enhanced feel around the greens.

All in all a great golf ball if you are after distance and want that feel around the greens.

Srixon Soft Feel Golf Ball

The Srixon Soft Feel Golf Ball is once again a popular option amongst golfers and can help golfers achieve a little bit more distance when needed. The Srixon Soft Feel has been well regarded as the best golf balls for senior golfers for quite some time.

Features

Soft Gradient Growth Core

This is the part that makes the golf ball perform better than some of its competitors. The Core of the golf ball is soft near the centre and gets gradually firmer around the perimeter.

This makes the golf ball feel soft while maximising ball speed. The Srixon Soft Feel golf ball will help achieve greater distance because of the energetic gradient growth core. It is a lower compression golf ball and will almost certainly help with distance.

338 Dimple Pattern

The 338 dimple pattern helps reduce drag and maximises lift, while helping the ball fly straighter in windy conditions. Yes, it does sound like a bunch of jargon, but remember companies have put a lot of research into these critical features that help golfers hit the ball further.

Ionomer Cover

The thin, softcover of the golf ball matches with the Core of the ball to help produce feel, spin and more control around the greens. This helps with extra feel around the greens and can help generate some spin with the wedges.

The Srixon Soft Feel Golf Ball has always been a popular option and continues to help golfers achieve their ultimate goal, which is lower scores. One of the longest golf balls for seniors on the current market.

Wilson DUO Soft+ Golf Ball

This ball is an absolute gem and not a ball that a lot of golfers seem to talk about. One of the lowest compression balls on the market, it helps with distance and has incredible feel around the greens. Considered one of the best golf balls for senior golfers.

Features

New Core Technology

The Wilson Duo Soft+ Golf Ball features advanced materials in the Core of the Golf Ball for more ball speed and distance. The golf ball is the worlds softest, which means it has an ultra softcore and two-piece construction.

Basically, this means if you struggle with distance and still want the feel around the green, this is simply one of the best golf balls out there.

World Softest Golf Ball

The Wilson Duo Soft Golf ball has the lowest compression out of any other golf ball on the market and is the World Softest Golf Ball on the market. This also helps with the short game and feel for putting around the green.

The distance that can be achieved with a low compression core is second to none and targeted at the player looking for some extra distance. Another strong contender for the best distance golf ball for seniors.

Taylormade Project A Golf Ball

Another one of the better golf balls for senior golfers that might be of interest and ranks as one of the best golf balls for seniors is the Taylormade Project A Golf Ball. This would be a ball that is more targeted at the player that likes the feel and spin around the greens.

The Ball does have some fantastic features and benefits and is probably more targeted at some of the better players.

Features

Softer Core Construction

Taylormade Project A Golf Balls

With a low compression core, this golf ball has been made softer to increase feel and spin on short approach shots around 30 yards from the green. It will suit average swing speeds that most mid to high handicap golfers would generally create. A revised formulation of the react core is what really helps drop the compression of the Project A golf ball.

Soft Cast Urethane Cover

This is where Taylormade have really managed to differentiate with their competitors.
The Cover of the Taylormade Project A Golf Ball is the same cover that they use on all of their Tour Level Golf Balls. This means that the ball is easier to spin for most amateurs inside 30 yards.

Spin Mantle

This is a three-piece golf ball with a mantle that has been specifically designed for more greenside spin.
Most three-piece golf balls are generally designed for players who like to spin the ball around the greens and are reasonably good ball strikers. The Taylormade Project A combines with the low compression core and the spin mantle to create a tour-level golf ball for amateur golfers.

One of the better golf balls on the market and possibly the best golf ball for seniors.
